The trip to Italy initiated in 1789 by the young painter Francisco Vieira (better known as Vieira Portuense) was marked by his prestigious activity in the service of the ducal court of Parma between 1794 and 1796.
This exhibition rediscovers his graphic works from this period which were conducted in close collaboration with the great printer Giambattista Bodoni, spreading the fundamental works of Correggio and other masters of classical painting in Europe for the first time.
