The MNAA presents, in comparison, the paintings Saint Augustine, from the MNAA collection, and Saint Nicholas Tolentino, belonging to the Museo Poldi Pezzoli, by Piero della Francesca (c. 1412-1492), one of the exponents of the Renaissance. Both were part of the polyptych of the convent of Saint Augustine in Borgo Sansepolcro, Piero's birthplace and residence, a work contracted in 1454, but only completed in 1469.
