This set of watercolors was part of an album of views of Düsseldorf, painted by local artists, at the city's request, to offer to the German princess Stephanie of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, on the occasion of her marriage to the Portuguese king D. Pedro V. Recently restored by the Foundation Casa de Bragança, the collection was the subject of a first public presentation at the Goethe-Museum (Düsseldorf) and is now presented in Portugal, in the MNAA.
