ATTENTION

1.Access for people with reduced mobility inside the Museum is restricted, please contact se@mnaa.dgpc.pt or the ticket office at Rua das Janelas Verdes for more information.


2. For safety reasons, the use of the cloakroom is obligatory. Please, leave any packages, all backpacks, umbrellas and bags in the cloakroom.
Handbags are allowed after being checked by MNAA staff.

For security reasons, it is forbidden to enter the Museum with suitcases, trolleys and camping backpacks or luggage with a size equal to or greater than 30 × 30 × 20 cm.

For security reasons, the use of the cloakroom is mandatory. All packages, backpacks, umbrellas and bags must be deposited in the cloakroom.

For security reasons, it is forbidden to circulate in the Museum's exhibition rooms with bottles/containers containing liquids.

3.For technical reasons, some areas of the Museum may have restricted access:

Level 1

- Portuguese Furniture – Rooms closed between 10h00 and 18h00
- Patiño Room - closed between 10h00 and 18h00
- Shop between 14h00 and 15h00
- Ticket office (entrance Garden 9 de Abril) between 10h00 and 18h00
- Chapel of the Albertas: from 10h00 to 18h00

Level 2
Rooms closed between 13h00 and 14h00


We kindly ask you to confirm at the Museum's ticketoffices (entrance through Jardim 9 de Abril and Janelas Verdes) which areas of conditioned access on the day foreseen for the visit.

4.Use of lockers
For safety reasons, the use of the cloakroom is obligatory. Please, leave any packages, all backpacks, umbrellas and bags in a locker in the cloakroom.
The use of the lockers is a service subject to the payment of a deposit of €1 (one euro), against delivery of the key, which will be returned at the end of each period of use.
Handbags are allowed after being checked by MNAA staff.

Payment by card. The ticket office will accept on an exceptional basis cash payments of the exact amount only.

Free admission

- Free entry at sundays and holidays for all Portuguese citizens and foreign residents in Portugal (requiring presentation of documentary proof);
- Children aged 12 or under;
- Unemployed visitors resident in the European Union;
- Professional on Cultural Heritage: Researchers, conservators, restorers, museum and/or heritage workers on professional service;
- ICOM, ICOMOS, APOM, ANBA and workers from
organizations supervised by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture;
- Teachers and students of any level of education (including senior or third-age universities and accredited professional training institutions), when demonstrably on a study visit and by prior appointment by the school and confirmed by the Museum (with prior notice at least 5 working days in advance by email);
- Groups with proven economic need, by prior appointment and confirmed by the Museum (with prior notice at least 5 working days in advance by email);
- Groups of Friends of museums, monuments and palaces of the MMP accredited by the Direção-Geral do Património Cultural;
- Employees, volunteers and interns from the central services of the DGPC or MMP and 1 companion;
- Former overseas fighters and their widow or widower, according to Anexo I da Lei n.º 46/2020, de 20 de agosto;
- Disabled visitors (60%) and 1 companion;
- Tourism workers with proof of registration at RNAAT, provided they are accredited and in the exercise of their duties;
- Journalists on professional duty, with prior notice, including new digital platforms, as long as they are accredited and performing their duties (with prior notice at least 5 working days in advance by email: ramiro.goncalves@museusemonumentos.pt and ana.sousa@museusemonumentos.pt);
- Visitors at corporate events or occasional situations;
- Citizens residing in national territory, in the year in which they turn 18, according to Despacho n.º 2880/2020 published in Diário da República No. 45/2020, Series II of 2020-03-04;
- Professional and higher education students in the areas of historical-artistic and heritage tourism and cultural management, according to artigo 185.º da Lei.º 12/2022, de 27 de junho de 2022 (Lei do Orçamento de Estado de 2022);
- Volunteer firefighters, according to artigo 6.º-B, n.º 1, alínea d), do Decreto-Lei n.º 241/2007, de 21 de junho, na sua redação atual;
- Other situations with legal framework.
